Selecting Credit Cards

  • Have I defined my purpose for using a credit card?

  • Do I understand the terms of the credit card?

  • Have I research various credit card companies and the benefits they provide?

  • Have I talked to my family and friends about the credit card they use and the benefits associated with them?

  • Can I receive frequent flier miles by using this credit card?

  • Have I compared the cost annual fee associated with  to owning a credit card to the other credit cards?

  • Under what conditions can the annual fee be waived?

  • How many credit cards do I need?

  • Will I be able to acquire my credit card balance via telephone and computer?

 

Using Credit Cards

  • For what type of purchases do I want to use my credit card?

  • For what type of purchases do I want to use cash?

  • Do I tend to spend more money if I am using a credit card?

  • Other than making purchases when else can I use my credit card such as insurance for rental cars?

  • Will I be able to make purchases with this credit card work in countries other than my own?

  • Can more than one family member use this credit card?

  • Can additional credit cards be issued to family members under the same account number?
