The Starting Point

  • What is my present level of health and fitness?

  • Have I sought a doctor's approval before starting an exercise regiment?

  • What is the most enjoyable, affordable and manageable exercise setting for me?

Creating Goals

  • What are my primary motivations for exercising?

  • What changes would I like to see in myself over the next three months, six months, and next year?

  • What motivating thoughts help me exercise?

  • What life changes could I make that would benefit my exercise routine and give me the results I want?

Challenges to Consider

  • How will I build extra time into my day for exercise?
  • If time is limited, is it possible for me to exercise from my own home?
  • How much time can I allot do a daily exercise routine?
  • Have I considered how I can alter my daily routine to allow time for this exercise?
  • When setting this time aside, am I factoring time that it will take to get to and from the exercise location?
  • Is money a factor when considering my exercise options?

Planning a Routine

  • At what time of day do I have the most energy for exercising?

  • What activities will best help me achieve my fitness goals?

  • Do I want to exercise on my own or with a partner?

  • Who can I consult in the exercise industry that would help me develop a program around my unique exercise needs and goals?

Recording Progress

  • How will I record my results?

  • In what way will I reflect to see that I have met my three months, six months, and year- long goals?

  • Have I researched exercise groups in my area that are led by trained fitness instructors?

  • If weight management is part of the program, am I weighing myself on the same scale at the same time of day to ensure accurate results?
